Educational and social activities for children and youth and young adults are listed separately. If you have an interest in an activity or opportunity that is not listed below, please contact our President-Elect, who facilitates the Church Council, or an appropriate Committee Co-Chair.

Amateur Piano Group:
All pianists are invited. Participants are asked to prepare a piano selection to play for the group.
When/Where:
Approximately every other month on Tuesdays evenings in the Sanctuary. The meetings last from one to two hours. Please contact Bryant for next date and time.

Choir:
Do you enjoy singing? Would you like to become a choir member and experience the energy of great music? We always practice music six weeks in advance so we have plenty of time to learn it.
When/Where: Rehearsal is Thursday evening, 7-8:15 PM, followed by informal fellowship. Choir generally performs 3 Sundays every month.

Interweave:
Dedicated to the spiritual, political, and social well-being of Unitarian Universalists who are confronting oppression as lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender persons, and their heterosexual allies; and facilitates the celebration of the culture and lives of its members. All members of the church, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identification, are invited to participate. Guests and members are welcome.
When/Where: Meets the last Sunday of each month following the worship service at 12:30 PM. Locations vary, usually at a nearby restaurant.  Meet in the sanctuary classroom to help pick a place.  To join our email group, send a message to fuucsa-interweave-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.

Multi-Cultural Advocates:
Our congregation has a Yahoo group for multi-cultural issues. The group is for members and advocates working to build a more multicultural, anti-racist, anti-oppressive community at First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Antonio.

Seniors LUUnch Club:
Bring a bag lunch and enjoy good conversation with this self-selecting social group.
When/Where: 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month, Noon, Library (Channing-Murray building).

Seventh Principle Nature Group:
Members and guests interested in appreciating and revering nature are welcome to participate in the activities of this intergenerational group. Activities include trips to bat caves, wildflower and animal preserves, hiking, camping, biking, swimming, caving, climbing and more in San Antonio and the surrounding areas. Your company, ideas and/or the sharing of your expertise are welcome and appreciated.
When/Where: Typically one weekend outing a month, check website & newsletter for upcoming events.

Simplicity Circle:
Voluntary Simplicity is a movement of people in the United States who are rethinking the American Dream. The Simplicity Circle is an informal study group for people who want to share ideas about working, spending & consuming less. The group provides an opportunity to share with friends & neighbors dealing with the same issues.

Social Action:
The Social Action Committee initiates and coordinates outreach activities of First Unitarian Universalist Church in the larger community. These activities are largely determined by the interests of our members. These initiatives can range from one time a year events to ongoing organizational activities.

Unithreaders Quilting Group:
Participants quilt, engage in a variety of sewing projects, socialize and usually meet for lunch.
When/Where: Every Wednesday from 9 AM–2 PM, usually in the Library (Channing-Murray building) but call prior to attending.

Young Adult Group:
Young adults, aged 18-35, are welcome to come join in our gatherings. We have a rotating schedule of events that rotates loosely to include game nights, discussion nights, movie nights, spirituality nights, eating out, and other events like camping, Missions baseball games, etc.
When/Where: Tuesdays, 7 PM, Library (Channing-Murray building). Gatherings typically end at 9 PM.  During school-year, meetings are weekly.  During summer (July-Aug), meetings are on first and third Tuesdays.
